Summer Trends

best of 2010q:What trends are going to be big this summer?

a:

The 80’s revival. Think peplum dresses, acidic prints, patterned tights and bold jewellery and you’re just about there. Throw on a structured blazer (a bold shoulder would be perfect) to keep the cold at bay until we are safely into summer.

Grunge utility. Liberty print dresses layered up with light weight parkas worn with your perfectly scruffy docs or cons. This is a great trans-seasonal look to get you through to the sunny days.

ClogsClogs. Love em or loathe em they will be on your feet by the end of summer. Clogs are this year’s answer to the gladiator sandal – more flattering but entirely less practical. No frolicking in the sand for clog wearers - you don’t want to risk spending summer nursing a broken ankle. Fortunately clogs look great with socks and tights! Even open toed styles work with hosiery – great to keep your pins warm on blustery days.

Antique Lace/crochet. Lace garments were around last summer but this season it is more about vintage and antique styles. Harsh white lace is out and cream, coffee and caramel are in.

Nude! As in the colour not the absence of clothing. Nude has been a huge hit on the runway. Designers are layering barely there shades together to create a rich, warm and elegant look for summer – and this is what you should be doing too! Think caramels, golds and blush as your new colour palate. And layer it up - if you keep the tones the same you cant go wrong.

i loooove clogs, but i already have longish legs, so they make my legs look really long and make me look huge. do i still wear them?

I don’t like the clogs either i’m a small person so big shoes would look silly on me, I like simple little dainty shoes.

i have def seen clogs around, but they are personally nawt me, i would have to search for the perfect pair that were not as chunky and punky with those metal bits on the side and maybe ones with a bit more of a flattering shape
