Threading or Waxing?

Eyebrow threading

Q. Should I get my eyebrows waxed, threaded or do them at home with tweezers? And what shape is best?

A. Brows are so important because they frame the face so unless you’re very confident using tweezers, I recommend leaving it to a professional, especially because this is your first time shaping your eyebrows. So many girls over pluck until they have almost no brows left!

I am a big fan of threading. It leaves a clean and well-groomed look, while waxing can be less defined. The best shape is simple, work with what you’ve got and try not to remove too much hair from above your brow line. The end result should be a tidier, more refined version of your natural brow.

What is threading? Eyebrow threading is a way of removing hair using a piece of cotton thread. The method originated in India and has been around for centuries. Threading can be used to remove other facial hair too.

Waxing can be really bad for your skin, since it pulls and tugs on the skin, where as threading and plucking don’t - because of this pulling, waxing can cause lines, as well as cause your skin to loose elasticity. So for me I’d only ever thread or pluck!

I wax when I can and tweeze in between. I’ve never heard about threading but I’m going to look it up!

I use tweezers, purely cause there’s only a small section of my brow that i feel needs shaping. but i imagine that if you wanted all of your eyebrow to be styled then DIY probably isn’t the best choice.

I love getting my brows threaded and its so cheap! But you definitely have to find someone who knows what you want, or better yet.. take a picture of the brow shape you are after smile

i agree with everyone who said yes to threading. it makes it more flawless and gives a great shape . its not as painful as well

i agree that threading is best but i’ve become quite good with tweezers and i also use small wax strips that i cut up even smaller to get rid of the chunk bits that take too long to tweeze. i prefer to do my own because i just haven’t found someone affordable that i can trust to do them.

i get my eyebrows treaded by an Indian lady who is great. She does them just how i like them and she is extremely affordable. $5.00 also i went to a salon once and they charged $15 which is also pretty good…highly recommend threading..although its better to keep up with it and get it done regularly to avoid pain.

@ 32515;
I think it hurts less then plucking them… though I’ve gotten myself in the eye with the thread a couple times and that does hurt XD
