Short Hair Makeover
This is Talia Broederlow, she entered the Rodney Wayne makeover competition because she was game to give something new a try and go shorter.
Talia had mid brown hair to her shoulder with a fringe she was growing out and some remnants of a semi permanent colour.
Here’s what she looked like before…

I asked Talia if she was up for a major change and she said she was totally up for anything. So, we cut her hair short, cropped tight up the back and heavy in the front.
Cory Van Malland, from Rodney Wayne Takapuna, lightened her hair to a platinum blonde, smudged a rich plum colour through the new growth (root) area to anchor the lightness and toned the midlengths and ends with a pastel peach colour.
Then, for fun, we blowdried Talia’s hair with some Redken Touch Control Mousse and a small boar bristle round brush before curling it with a 1” curling iron and brushing it through for a playful retro look. We shot her like this with no makeup and she just looked gorgeous!
After that we took a hair straightener and ironed her hair straight before ruffling it with our fingers for a casual cool look.

In october last year I shaved my hair off last year for canteen. (it wasnt planned) I was asked if I wanted to do it on the day when I was helping out at the shave off and I said “if the amount donated was right”. A Watties rep was there and he instantly donated $200. He said this was because my hair was so long (down past my waist). I made roughly $400 in about an hour for canteen and then lo and behold had my hair all shaved off. I’m very proud of what I did but now I cant style my hair in any way. Its about 5cm long (long enough to be messy, too short to do anything with)
