Beauty Spy: Summer Perfume Reviews
Our Beauty Spy, Makeup Artist and Beauty Writer Christina Houghton, got to test drive 5 of Summer’s sweetest scents. Here’s what she thought of them.

1. Viva La Juicy by Juicy Couture, 30ml $101.00
It’s supposed to smell like… an enticing scent of wild berries and mandarins, honeysuckle, gardenia, and jasmine. To round it out, amber, caramel, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline add just the right touch of sweetness.
First impressions. When I first sprayed it I was amazed at how deep and layered the scent was. It really does have all of the above notes.
Performance. Fantastic on the skin! Amazingly cute bottle too.
What makes it special. I actually got compliments while wearing it. It doesn’t get much better than that.

2. Mine Again
It’s supposed to smell like…. Mine Again has main notes of chocolate raspberry and magnolia, which I found to be a very interesting mix.
First impressions. This is one super sweet smelling scent!
Performance. This was the only perfume that didn’t mix well with my skin. It smelt sweet at first but when I sprayed it on my skin it had more of a musky smell, which isn’t my cup of tea.
What makes it special. Even though I wasn’t into it, it lasted for ages on my skin! Great for those of you that like your scents rich and musky. It would be perfect for an evening date!
3. Ribbon
It’s supposed to smell like…. Ribbon is inspired by an actual Ring Pop Lollipop flavour: Blue Raspberry.
First impressions. I found Ribbon overwhelmingly fruity and floral. The scent was very strong at first and as time went on it became softer but sweeter on the skin.
Performance. I liked (not loved) the scent. It was soft and sweet, but didn’t last as long on the skin as I would have liked.
What makes it special. Ribbon smells like summer! Perfect for days at the beach or when you want to bring summer back in the Winter.
4. Honey
It’s supposed to smell like…. Honey is meant to be the bright and sunny perfume from this collection.
First impressions. I thought that Ribbon was more of a sunny perfume than Honey, but Honey definitely had some high sweet notes.
Performance. I loved honey. It was sweet and warm and lasted a long time on my skin.
What makes it special. Honey was the best. It’s super wearable. Perfect for both day and night.
5. Pretty Hot Elizabeth Arden, 100ml $138 each
It’s supposed to smell like…. red currant, blood orange, mandarin, freesia, apple, peony, pimento blossom, petalia, georgywood, amber, patchouli, tonka crystals, sandalwood and cosmone - that’s a lot of notes!
First impressions. Beautiful. It smells so deep and warm, it’s really quite amazing.
Performance. If the aim of the creators of this perfume was for women to feel sexy while wearing it, they got it spot on.
What makes it special. It’s very wearable and smells divine, but best for an older woman because it has such deep notes.
