Hot Product: Foundation Primer

Hot Product: Foundation Primer

Not keen on looking like a shiny disco ball this Summer? We’ve got what you need…

Foundation primers are Summer’s wonder product. They go on under your foundation to smooth skin, minimise pores and stop your makeup from melting away. Here’s two that are worth trying.

smashbox primer rimmel primer

1. Photo Finish Foundation Primer Tube, $76.00

Yes, it’s pricey, but this stuff is worth it’s weight in gold! This super lightweight, oil-free blend of vitamins A and E, grape seed extract and green tea can be worn alone to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and pores, or under your foundation for a flawless, long lasting finish. There’s a reason it’s Smashbox’s best-selling primer - it’s really good!

2. Rimmel Fix & Perfect Primer, $15.50

If money matters, Rimmel’s Fix & Perfect Primer is a great product for the price. The skin perfecting primer smoothes and evens out your complexion, prolongs the wear of your foundation and minimizes pores. Take that, Summer!

The smashbox primer has loads of silicone in it- which works great for some people and smoothes the skin out like they promise, but it makes you break out if you have sensitive skin, so be careful when splurging on it.

thats the dilemma with foundation, if you skin is imperfect the foundation doesn’t sit right.  If its great skin you don’t need (much) foundation.  I think primers are great, foundation looks and feels right with primer on.
