Makeup Trends For 2012
This year, almost anything goes when it comes to makeup! Whether you go for a makeover or a make-under, be sure that 2012 is the year of makeup experiments and a new look! Here is a list of the hottest makeup trends for 2012:
Colour blocking. This term no longer belongs solely in the fashion section! Colour blocking is the next biggest thing in makeup. Whether you colour block your lips - one colour on the bottom lip, and one on the top lip - or your eyeshadow, don’t be afraid to give this crazy trend a try on your next big night out!
All white. The very opposite to colour blocking. Sure to be a big trend this year is the white/metallic eyeshadow look. If you want a change from the smokey eye, opt for this all white look which makes the eyes pop and shine.
Seeing red. Red lippy is still big this year - but mix it up! Whether you choose a deep plum or an orangey coral, red adds a touch of ‘chic’ to any look - day or night.
Meow! Cat eyes are the latest and greatest in eye makeup. Instead of simply one flick of eyeliner, use two different coloured liners {one on the bottom lash line and one on the top} and flick both lines out at the corner of your eye for a truely feline look.
Smoke signals. We all know and love the smokey eye, but this year we’re taking it to extremes! Add a pop of colour to your tried-and-true smokey eye look - blue looks especially glam for night time - or make your eyeliner extra thick and add false lashes for a seriously dramatic look.
Be bold. Bushy eyebrows? Not a problem! Pencil thin brows are a fad of the past, this year is all about thick, natural brows. Just keep them nicely groomed and they will frame your face beautifully.
Youthful glow. Thick, gluggy foundation never looks good. It clogs your pores and can leave streaks and lines around your face. Keep things fresh by opting for a dewey, natural look with a light foundation, a soft blush and a pearly illuminator on your cheekbones and browbones.
This year makeup is all about having fun, trying new techniques and enhancing natural beauty. With a little practise and paitience you will master your ‘2012 look’ in no time!

Hey cool… The white shadow style sounds extra great, I shall be sure to try it very soon. Thank goodness for the eyebrows though… I hate it when people have super thin eyebrows, it just looks so unnatural! Oh yeah and thank you for stating that cake face is not nice.
