Get Kate Winslet’s modern french roll
The look: A modern French roll
This modern take on an old classic is perfect for naturally curly hair, but it can work just as well with straight hair too.
How to get it:
1. Pull your hair back as if you were going to put it in a low ponytail. Starting from where you would normally secure your pony with a hair tie, twist and roll your hair up toward the crown of your head, pinning it in place as you go.
2. When you get to your crown, tuck any loose ends into the top of the roll and secure with more pins.
3. If your hair is straight, pull strands of hair out to create a flirty, wispy roll.
4. Lightly mist with a firm hold shine spray to keep your style under control and finish the look with a layer of glossy shine.
Stylist Tip: For a more sophisticated look like Kate’s, pull out a section of hair at the front of your head before starting the roll, and use the section to form a sleek side swept fringe (click here to find out how).
What to use:
Matrix Biolage Styling Shine Endure Spritz, $29.50.
Hair FX Fringe Pins, $4.30 for 100 pins.
