Is my period normal?

DatesIf you’ve heard you should be getting your period every four weeks, and you’re not, there’s no need to worry!

The truth is, it can take years for your body to settle into a regular pattern. Until then, some periods will be long and others might be short.

Your cycle may be irregular for the first couple of years too. This is because the level of hormones the body manufactures can be different from one cycle to the next, which affects the amount and length of bleeding.

Here’s a couple of things which are great to do if your period is irregular.

1. Start keeping a period diary. It’s easy to forget when you got your period and how long it lasted. Keeping a diary of your cycles will mean if you want to talk to someone about it, like your doctor, they’ll know all the facts and can give you advice based on the information. It’ll also give you an idea of whether your period is settling into a pattern.

2. Whether you use tampons or pads, keep a few different absorbencies on hand - light, regular and super - that way if your flow changes mid cycle, you won’t get caught out.

Tip: If you’re not sure when your period’s due, use a liner as extra back-up. They’re also great for keeping your knickers feeling nice and fresh!

Anything from two to seven days is a pretty normal period, so relax and let your body do its thing.

Yeah it can take years for it to become regular! Mine’s still not after several years, so everyone’s different smile. I’m glad how there’s no ‘right’ answer when it comes to this stuff - each person is a bit different.

I fel they all need to do driver training through a driving school. A defensive diving course would also help them.

I think this is a good idea for boys because their brains are less developed than girls at this age, i think girls should still be allowed to drive at 15 though.
