Budgeting made easy
Along with the Winter chill, most students are contending with being flat broke at this time of the year! Ball season has come and gone and the holidays always manage to be expensive.
But instead of getting bummed about your fiscal situation, why not take the opportunity to get your money in order and prepare for the summer?
Whether you want to save for a trip, or that Karen Walker dress you’ve been drooling over, or you’d just like to not be broke all of the time, preparing a budget will help you get there.
Budgeting can be a little painful at first, but it will give you control over your money and allow you to get the things you really want in the future. Watch this short vid to help you get started…

Im the worse budgeter as I am always buying clothes or what not. I have found that it helps to write down all the neceities you need to buy before pay day and leave aside an amount for savings. Also, with saving the first $1000 you save will be your HARDEST ! But trust me. Once you have reached that $1000 mark.. When it comes to spending money, I try to go by just one rule: If you’ve done without it until now, you don’t need it! Seems to help a bit..I love buying clothes that I don’t need! :/ Obviously, that rule doesn’t apply to petrol or food  Posted by Katja "on" 05/14 "at"05:41 PM |

im not wanting to promote anything but i have been using a thing called “my money” by ASB - they calculate all your spending and show you where it is going (in my case on food and dining!) is pretty handy for a reality call. . . then i put together a budgeting/ savings plan with high interest if i dont withdrawl - def a better incentive to not keep buying shoes!
