Where can it take me?
A worldwide shortage of nurses here and overseas means there’s a very high likelihood that as a graduate, you’ll be in high demand…and you’ll get to choose your area of specialisation. You can become:
• Practice Nurse
• Nurse Researcher
• Nurse Consultant
• Community Mental Health Nurse
• Military Nurse
• Cruise Ship Nurse
• Forensic Laboratories Nurse
• Rescue Helicopters Nurse
• Occupational Nurse
• Corporate Health Nurse working in the business environment
• Public Health Nurse
• District Nurse
• Well-child Nurse
Where can I study nursing?
A Bachelor of Nursing is a three year, full-time course available at Manukau Institute of Technology.
Because MIT has very strong working relationships with hospital and community agencies, you’ll get to work in a broad range of environments while you study – and as a registered nurse, you can expect to be in demand when you graduate.
Would I make a good nurse?
If you are a compassionate, caring person who loves to work with others and also have an interest in studying the human body, then that’s a YES. Nurses are playing an incredibly important role in helping people to take charge of their health and preventing serious health issues before they arise.

MIT also offer a number of other Nursing, Community Health and Health Promotion programmes.

One of the BEST careers out there, I’m in my final year of training and love it. You will meet a variety of different people, and get to help them in their time of need. Every day is so different from the last, so definatly not a career you will get bored it. From exprience (both mine and my friends) its something you grow more passionate about as your training progresses - the more you work with people the more you value the interactions you have, and knowledge and skills you are equiped with enabling you to help others. Studying nursing was the best choice I ever made, and I encourage you girls to consider it as well. Best of luck Posted by little_nurse "on" 08/03 "at"03:38 PM |
