Get some golden globes glamour

Olivia Wilde

The Golden Globes kicked the awards season off to a very stylish start in January. The dramatic combo of long lashes and smokey eyes appeared on the beautiful faces of Anna Paquin, Glee’s Lea Michele and Emily Blunt, but it was House hottie Olivia Wilde who did it best, teaming with a perfect peony pink lipstick.

Revlon

Face: Olivia is just like the rest of us, she doesn’t have picture perfect skin! To create her “flawless” complexion you’ll need to start with a solid base. Even your skin tone with a creamy matte foundation, using your finger tips to blend.

Hide blemishes with a cream based concealer applied with a concealer brush, and dust your face with a sheer layer of translucent powder to set. Finish your base with a soft colour on the cheeks.

Brush

Lids: Apply a dark shadow to the outer corner of your eyes in small circular motions, extending the shadow along the outer corner of your lower lashline. Next work a soft coloured shadow from the inner corner of your eye out to meet the darker shade. Blend the two shadows together using a clean blending brush. Finish with a touch of soft shimmer shadow in the inner corners of your eyes -it will make them pop!

Tip: Olivia has lined her bottom and top lashlines for added drama, but for a softer look try skipping this step.

Lashes: If you’re blessed with lovely long lashes like Olivia, curl and apply two generous coats of mascara. If you’re not so lucky, get a set of falsies. Apply with a pair of tweezers for accuracy, then curl with your natural lashes and apply mascara to both.

Lipstick

Lips: Pink lipstick can sometimes be a little too pretty for this kind of bold eye, but not if you get the shade just right. This peony hue has the perfect amount of colour - enough to be noticeable, but not so much that it draws attention away from the eyes. Before applying your lippy always apply a layer of lipbalm and buff away any dry skin with a soft tooth brush.

One more reason we love this look: Olivia donated the gorgeous Gucci evening gown that complimented this makeup look so well to be auctioned off to benefit the relief efforts in Haiti. How nice is she!
