Friends with benefits
Q. So there’s this boy. He wants us to have a “friends with benefits” relationship. But he doesn’t want anyone knowing about it. Is this ok? I think he’s embarrassed to date me…
A. Friends with benefits never work. We have no clue how the idea started because we’ve never heard of a friends with benefits situation that actually ended up being successful (feel free to prove us wrong below!) Sounds to us like this guy is attempting to get whatever he can from you without actually committing himself - and you need to stay as far away from him as possible!
Wants his cake and to eat it too
It’s probably not a case of him being embarrassed to date you. It sounds more like he’s the kind of dumb guy who wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants to have the “fun” part of the relationship while still looking cool, macho and single around his friends, and other girls no doubt.
Not worth it
Keep well away from this kind of boy. He’s not a nice person to be around and even if you did end up in a relationship with him we’d be willing to bet that within a few weeks you’d be completely bored of someone that shallow and, quite frankly, that dim.

FWB only works if you BOTH want the same thing out of it-someone to hang with sometimes and have a bit of fun.If you expect more than that, then you better expect to get your heart broken. I had the same 2 FWB for 5years and it was great,we were single and would catchup a couple of times a month.We even met eachothers friends family over those 5yrs. We both wanted the same thing and nothing more so hearts were never broken. Its was a fun time and i dont regret it, but once I met the love of my life That was it for my FWB relationships:) So yes I think FWB works but only if remember to NOT put your whole heart into it. I agree that 99% of the time stay away from men like this. However I fit into that 1% category. But then we were friends first and both come out of bad relationships. It was supposed to be a bit of fun to cheer us both up but then things changed for us both. And we have been together for 10 yrs now, married 5, travelled the world together and Have almost 2 kids, I’m 38weeks pregnant. He is my best friend and lover.
