All this and heaven too. A fitting title for the January British Vogue fashion spread I was looking through over the weekend. I know I’m getting a bit behind with my magazines as the March issues are on the stands already but I’m going to play the new mum equals no free time card! It works a charm.
Starring one of my favourite It-Brits, the stunning, gapped toothed Georgia May Jagger, the editorial has a story-like quality to its pages. It follows a young couple at their home in Palm’s Springs (which happens to be Frank Sinatra’s iconic house) lazing about on vintage furniture, in 70’s styled get up.

When I close my eyes this scene is exactly what I imagine the future holds for me – perfect hair, an enviable wardrobe, constant soft lighting and that Jagger pout, all whilst being casually entwined with Henry Hopper at all times. Dreams are free.
Celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe has been dressing like a 70’s starlet forever. She’s rubbed off on a few of her star clients too. Nicole Richie loves the 70’s, choosing to clothe herself in vintage Halston and YSL as well as her House of Harlow range being heavily influenced by the era.
To be honest, I love the move away from androgynous fashion towards a more feminine silhouette, while still being infinitely wearable. This is the era where pants became appropriate for women to wear! Hurrah. We can thank them for the flat front short and tapered leg pant - both huge fashion trends right now.
If you are looking for a 70’s fix at the shops check out Ruby for luxe threads and Dotti for a friendlier price point. It’s all in the styling. Keep makeup natural. The era embraced natural feminine beauty so a dust of bronzer and sweep of mascara is all you need.
Now to find Mum’s old velcro rollers…. must perfect 70’s waves to snag Henry Hopper lookalike.

Monday’s are a sad day for blogging. While we are up and about starting our week, using the first half hour at work to trawl the internet for tidbits, the rest of the world sleeps. My Monday blues are only made worse knowing it wont be till Tuesday (or Monday night depending on time zones) when I can get my fashion fix.
Sometimes I won’t check the blogs on Saturdays so I can keep up my weekly routine. But, it’s not really news when I read it two days later. Sigh. I can’t expect bloggers to work round the clock. Can I?
One of my fashion blog addictions (I assure you, there are more than a few) is checking in with the hilarious girls at gofugyourself.com. This site is dedicated to critiquing, somewhat meanly I might add, the fashion faux pas of celebs on the red carpet. These are the photos you don’t see in the magazines. Creased satin, formal shorts and leggings are just a few of the things that get the Fug girls, Heather and Jessica, blood boiling. I was going to write here what I loved the most about the site but really I just love it all. It is a super entertaining read.
What are your fav fashion blogs? Let me know in the comment section. I might review one of your recommendations in an upcoming blog.

Most people don’t ever want the holiday’s to end, and normally I am one of them. BUT this year I want them to speed up - I have literally been counting down the days till the end of January. So ridiculously excited am I to see Black Swan (release date 27th Jan) that I have been taking this beautiful weather for granted.
I’m not sure you can blame me. The buzz started for me when I found out that Rodarte, the super talent sister design duo, would be creating the costumes for Natalie Portman’s character, Nina. Swoon. And from what I could see from the trailers and the press pics the costumes are set to be breathtaking.
Just last night a pregnant Natalie Portman accepted the award for best actress in a drama at the Golden Globe awards. Fun film fact: she met her babydaddy while shooting Black Swan – he was her dance choreographer!
I just have to hold out another week. To tide us over until then check out this behind the scenes vid which gives you a glimpse of Rodarte’s mouthwatering tulle tutu’s and a sneak peak at Natalie Portman’s and Mila Kunis’ stunning performances.
Let me know what you think.
