Just print of lots of CV’s and go around a couple of the local malls and give them out to shops, whether there looking for staff or not, because they would probably keep your CV, and you might end up one of the first ones they would look at . Also look on TradeMe for any local jobs, or go around the neighbour hood, there might be baby sitting/ dog walking around you could do. Also paperrun is an option .

God I feel your pain!  I’m 17 and still haven’t got a job, and I reallllllllly need to save for uni next year :/  I’ve done the cv drop multiple times and everytime they say “Sorry we don’t need anyone at the moment, but we’ll keep your name on record.”  GAH it gets so annoying!  And all my mates have two jobs, talk about job hogging raspberry

Even though it hasn’t worked for me yet, I still advise doing a cv drop around local shops.  It takes a bit of confidence to begin with, but the people are always really nice.  Make sure that you make your cv look professional, and if you don’t get anywhere the first time just keep trying!

I wish you more luck than I’ve had!!! raspberry

try seek.com and trademe jobs. also supermartkets are always wanting new people and if you work there for awhile you can get a bit of experience to get a better job after that. or closing stores like glassons, just jeans etc

I would suggest trying the “just group” website. They have lots of stores under their company and i personally love working for them. They are also willing to hire younger people with little experience. Good luck

Fast food places are always looking if your not too “shame” to work there.
I got a job at kfc when i was 15. I was shame at first but my pay checks ended up over riding all that. Speshly when none of my friends had jobs and i did. I felt good and independant.
Anyway back to you again…i think just try anything you can get. At this age your not tryna find your career you just need a flexible part time job. So apply anywhere and everywhere you think you could work at and dont let rejections knock you down. Just keep at it. And eventually when you start earning money and gaining experience and qualifications you can keep making your way up.
