I have bad problems sleeping. I find it really hard to get to sleep. I can be super tired but I still can’t get myself to fall asleep. Sometimes I only get to sleep at 5 in the morning and it’s really horrible because it makes me feel and look horrible. I’ve seen the doctor but her advice didn’t help and I’m not allowed to use sleeping pills. Any one got any ideas?
I’ve tried having a routine but it doesn’t work. Like I’ll get ready for bed and go to bed at like 9 or something but I can’t sleep and will be lying in bed for hours trying to sleep and I’ll keep going to bed at that time trying to sleep but I can’t so it just becomes routine that I can’t sleep. If that makes sense? =S Grr
do you think there is a posibiblity that music would help you get to sleep it helps some people its good if you like listening 2 music…....i heard that a nice fresh sheets just washed put onto bed clean and made bed makes you have a good sleep 4 that night atleast.
I listen to music all the time and I’ve tried listening to music to help my sleep like nice, soft calm sleeping music except I love singing so I can’t help but sing along which makes me wide awake more. Yeah thanks that might help! So far my bed contains of a duvet and 2 sheets chucked onto my bed, like not tucked in or anything so maybe that would help
go to a naturepath and get you nutrition levels checked thats what helped me! no offense to normal docters but they can be kinda useless sometimes. only problem is that naturepaths are more expensive.
you should try to have a warm shower or bath.
make sure your room is dark.
Turn off anything that might distract you like a phone.
Orr read a book or a magazine.
I’ve had the same problem before, like I would do all the calming stuff and routines and went to bed at 9 and couldn’t get to sleep until 11, even later than that sometimes. My mum bought me this stuff you put under your nose from the herb farm and I think it worked, unless it was just my faith in it. Here’s the link to their site: http://www.herbfarm.co.nz/. And maybe try classical music, that way you can’t sing lol.
Also, a way that calmed me was thinking the words ‘Just, relax’ in time with my breathing. The word ‘just’ breathing in, and the word ‘relax’ breathing out. It worked like a charm, and still does. I think that having trouble going to sleep can be just a stage. Anyway I hope I helped!
Just do something boring. your mind needs to relax and simulating it by watching t.v or reading a book can make you stay awake. Also set boundaries and use your bed for only sleeping, keep the room dark too and after a while it should get easier to sleep.
I don’t live in Christchurch, and I don’t know what a naturopath is either
Thanks I’ll take a look at that website with my mum
Yeah I hope its just a stage because I’ve gotten to the point that I only get 4 hours sleep and don’t even feel that tired during the day or I’ve just gotten so used to it that I don’t even realise that I’m tired anymore. Lol
well i dont know how much help this will be but for me its caffiene and chocolate etc. Watch what you eat for a few hours before bed - not too muuch sugar and generally a light meal can help
