This is a bit awkward but… A friend mentioned (after one too many drinks) recently that she had been shocked to find her new bf had a foreskin. She claimed to have never seen one before and that her previous partners (and brothers!) were all circumcised… heated discussion ensued. How many guys get circumcised in NZ? I had never given this topic much thought, but now I’m curious…

The vast majority of men in the world are uncircumcised. In most of the world circumcision is extremely rarely practiced.
For example in most of Europe, South America, Central America, Africa, and Asia, probably 98 out of 100 men would be uncircumcised.
However, in some countries a small minority of the population is circumcised. For example in places like Canada and Australia, around 10% of newborn babies are circumcised.

In the 1980s, over 80% of newborn male infants were circumcised. By 2007, less than 40% of newborn male infants were circumcised.

I’ve never had a boyfriend that has a for-skin so its probably pretty common. Tho none of my brothers have been.

My mum once told me that girls can get circumcised too, tho its commonly called female genital mutilation or Female genital cutting and it is any procedure involving the partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs.

So getting your “lips” (as such) cut off.

I hope some of this my help.

I think it’s quite common. My Mum told me about this when her friend’s baby was having it done. She said it’s needed for hygiene reasons. I don’t know exactly how it makes the ##### look different…. I’ve only seen a few and they all looked the same to me….

it does make it look different before hand there is a flap of skin that covers the tip and is pulled back when it erect. Afterwards there is no skin covering the tip. So basically its like a jacket / no jacket.

Personally to me, it doesn’t matter. And it shouldn’t matter to other people whether a guy still has his foreskin or not.

Apparently though, circumsized guys have a cleaner ‘thing’ as theres nothing trapping in yucky things.

Each to their own I guess, but I don’t mind.
