Choose the right style for your face shape

Ready for a new hair-style but don’t know what to get? We’ve got everything you need to know about choosing the perfect cut.

Knowing what face shape you have, and what will and won’t work with it, is like having a secret weapon in the battle for amazing hair! So find out what face shape you have below and learn how to choose a cut that flatters your features.

What face shape do you have?

Oval

Do: Most lengths and styles will suit you so be adventurous! If you’re going short, try a cute bob. If long’s your thing, try a style that’s layered and loose.

Don’t wear your hair on your face - your style will be lost behind it.

Do: Layered styles with side parts work well if you’ve got long hair. If you settle on short, a chin length bob will look great.

Don’t: Top heavy short styles. If you’re going to go super short, try to keep some weight around the back and keep it flatter at the top.

Do: Go for a layered rather than blunt fringe. If your hair’s short, a textured style with height at the crown will work well. Long, layered styles with an off centre part are also a winner.

Don’t: Go for a blunt, chin length cut - it will make the face look heavier than it is. Choose centre parts.

Do: Short to medium lengths with a wave or layers. Height on the crown also looks good. Try a side part and if you’ve got a fringe, sweep it to the side.

Don’t: Go for long straight styles that are all one length, styles that end at the jawline or centre parts.
