How do you tease your hair properly?
How do you tease your hair for added volume? I can’t work out how to do it! Whenever I try it always goes really fuzzy and looks like I’ve just climbed through a hedge. Is there a proper way to do it? Please help!
There is indeed an art to the perfect tease. First up, teasing never goes down well with clean hair. You need a touch of grime in your locks to get the desired, full effect. So, if you’re planning a voluminous do’, don’t wash your hair for a day or two beforehand.
Where you do your teasing is also important. What you are trying to do is create volume, and volume always happens at the roots. Teasing your hair past the root to the tip creates the ‘hedge‘ look. And you shouldn’t be able to tell that you have teased your hair, unless you are off to an 80s dress up party. Always disguise the teased section by running a comb through the top layer of hair.
Last but not least, here’s a fool proof step-by-step guide to performing the perfect tease.
1. Always split the hair you are wanting to tease into small sections.
2. Pull each section straight up to the sky, spray the root with a little hairspray, and push a fine tooth comb down into the roots until you are happy with the height.
3. Repeat with each additional section, working from the back, forward.
4. When you get to the end push all the teased hair back and smooth the last section over the others to hide the teased hair.
5. Style as desired.

when i first starting teasing it looked so messy lol . but then i worked out a way that suited me . day before washed hair , a good comb and brush and alot of hairspray! plus sectioning your hair ,with doing the top layers first, backcomb spray backcomb spray , flip it over so the underneath hair is exposed so you can repeat the same steps till you happy with the amount of hair teased then flip the the hair back down tease a little more and fiddle around with it and spraY all over  Posted by Emmz22 "on" 12/01 "at"11:38 PM |
