Repair summers damage

qMy hair is long but lately it’s been looking damaged and it’s dry all the time. I really don’t want to cut it short but is that the only way to get it looking normal again?

Long hair needs a lot of care, and when you don’t look after it properly, it gets dry and dull. The most common reasons for hair damage are heated styling tools, the sun, chlorine and chemical processes like colouring or relaxing. Chances are summer’s given your long locks a bit of a beating. A haircut is a good idea. You don’t have to cut it all off, just get rid of the split ends. Regular trims are essential for achieving long, healthy hair, and they can actually make your hair grow faster!

Your hair gets dry when it’s lacking moisture, and the sun and chlorine love stealing the moisture from your hair. Invest in some good products and make a commitment to getting you hair healthy. Use a shampoo and conditioner designed for damaged hair and avoid using a hair dryer and straighteners when you can. If you have to, make sure you use a heat protection product like . Once a week apply a deep conditioning treatment, wrap your hair in glad wrap and blast it with your hair dryer. The heat helps your hair absorb the moisture and the glad wrap holds the heat. The longer you leave the treatment in, the better. You can even leave it in over night if you want. Your hair won’t repair itself overnight, but give it some time and you will be rewarded.

Whoa i have exactly the same problem and I tend to straighten my hair quite a lot, i found that Kerastace ciment thermique is such a good product to apply to wet hair before drying your hair and straightening. I have curly hair and found that this product is heat activated so is sweet at protecting hair from heating irons etc, it also made my hair smooth and silky just like the ads. Number two is also a very good hair protector and is used at my work ♥
