Land a dream job at party central!

ShakeThe hospitality and tourism industries are already gearing up for the thousands of visitors heading our way for the World Cup in September next year. If you want to land a job right amongst the action, now’s the time to think ahead and get the skills and experience you’ll need.

Is it too late to start training?

Not at all. In fact now’s the perfect time to get started. An internationally-recognised certificate or diploma in travel and tourism can be achieved in just one year. A hospitality or business diploma takes a bit over a year – so there’s plenty of time to enrol, study and get some work experience before the World Cup next September.

What skills will be in demand?

Hotels, airlines, adventure tourism operators (think Queenstown, Rotorua!) travel agencies, restaurants and bars will all be looking for professional, skilled people. Those with formal tertiary training will have a real advantage as employers will be looking for professionally-trained people who can handle the pressure of the World Cup rush!

What and where do I study?

Travel girlCrown Institute trains some of NZ’s best local and international travel, tourism, hospitality and business professionals – many of whom are now working in international resorts, hotels and airlines. Their courses range from just 14 to 56 weeks. Because they work closely with international airlines, hotels and tourism industry, they understand what businesses need – so you’ll graduate with skills and talents that are in real demand. Crown’s courses are NZQA registered and approved for student funding by the Ministry of Education.

How do I enrol?

Crown Institute is situated in the heart of Auckland city and enrolments are open right now for courses starting in August 2010 and February 2011.
