How to write a good blog
Alright, your blog’s all set up and ready to go - now to actually publish!

Your first post effectively sets the tone of your blog, so choose a topic that’s in keeping with its main focus. Setting some time aside to brainstorm ideas and create a loose schedule for the week/s ahead can also be helpful. You can always change it but you’ll be more likely to update your blog regularly if you have a bit of a plan!
Remember - the best blogs:
a) have a clear focus
b) are easy to look at and easy to use
c) are updated regularly
It’s important to update your blog regularly if you want to build a loyal readership (ever checked a blog/website only to find it hasn’t been updated for a couple months?!) Aiming to post new content at least every third day is a good start. If you’re short on time, even writing a couple lines or posting an image/video will encourage readers to check back often.
Some other tips:
*Consider your audience. Having a strong idea of who you’re writing to will help you write a good blog!
*Be concise. Unfortunately most people don’t read really long posts on the internet, so try to be to the point (ask yourself if you’d read to the end of the post if it was on someone else’s blog!)
*Check your posts before you publish them! Mistakes are distracting and reason enough to surf elsewhere for a lot of readers.
*Just to contradict myself - don’t get too obsessive about getting your post exactly perfect or you’ll never end up hitting ‘publish’!
Spread the word!
It can take a while to build up your readership, but the more people you tell - whether in person, via Facebook, Twitter or any other medium - the faster you’ll grow an audience!

Blogging is about expressing yourself through a new medium, although I agree with ghost, I think that you need to have a clear focus and idea in mind for your blog as to not confuse readers. I, personally, think that your blog should be your own thing. If you have to write within specific constraints then you really aren’t getting it out how you want to. The only thing I’d really worry about is if people can understand you and no text speak and being too vulgar.
