Rise Up Christchurch
From Lady Gaga’s Guccis to a Taylor guitar that’s been autographed by Katy Perry, there’s some pretty incredible stuff up for grabs in the Rise Up Christchurch Global Telethon auction.
The auction site has been set up to help raise funds in support of the 12 hour telethon, which will screen live on May 22 (this Sunday!) from 9am-9pm on Māori TV.
Among the list of items you could buy:
*A pair of limited edition Gucci heels autographed by Lady Gaga
*A baby Taylor guitar signed by Katy Perry
*Two once in a lifetime Manchester United game packages
*A Two and a Half Men crew jacket, donated by Melanie Lynskey
Check out the full stash of goods here!
Not only can you bid on these and other great items, you can also help fundraise by listing items for auction yourself! The proceeds will go directly to the telethon account (which in turn will be donated to the NZ Government’s Christchurch Earthquake Appeal), meaning if you can’t afford to donate money by buying something but have something you want to sell, you can help fundraise that way instead!
All you have to do is register to donate an item at Sella.co.nz/riseup, tick a box and the auction is added to the telethon page. According to Sella spokesman Trent Helmbright, “You can list absolutely anything that’s legal - and worth buying.”
Don’t forget to watch the Rise Up Christchurch Global Telethon on Sunday May 22 9am-9pm! Go to Riseup.org.nz or check out the Rise Up Christchurch Facebook page for more.

i think its so great to have these world famous celecraties supporting chrsitchuch . as a new zealander i have been to christchurch before and it was a great experience . you will never find people quite as nice as the people in christchurch anywhere in the world . i am so proud of all the people who experienced the quake and they strong way they have reacted to the disaster . im not saying that im thankfull for the earthquake as it caused deaths but i am thankfull for the strong reaction new zealanders have had to it. i think this earthquake has caused kiwis to be stronger and to come and support eachother in times of need . we have made the most out of this tradgedy so i think now is a great time to rise up and support christchurch today. thankyou you to all these celebraties that are helping christchurch fight through this.
