Shave for a Cure

On April 8 Stephanie Devere-Ellery and four of her fellow students at Papakura High School shaved their heads to help raise money, awareness and to show their support for people with leukaemia. Check out the before and after photos here!

As part of the Leukaemia and Blood Foundation’s Shave for a Cure campaign, Stephanie (who happens to be head girl!) shaved off all her hair. She says doing this to support cancer sufferers is something she’s long wanted to do.

“Three close family members have passed away from cancer - although not necessarily leukaemia - and I’m actually doing this to honour my Grandmother, who was an inspiration to me. I also want to show those with cancer that I won’t let them stand alone in their struggle, I will stand right beside them, even by shaving my head in support.”

So far, Stephanie’s raised $750 toward her goal of $1000 for Shave for a Cure, and we want to see her get all the way - and beyond!! If you’d like to donate in support of this amazing cause, visit Stephanie’s profile here and give whatever you can!
