Moving in with a possessive bf
My boyfriend’s really possessive and gives me a hard time when I want to hang out with my friends. We’re thinking about moving in together this year but I’m worried it’ll be even harder to see my friends when we’re living in the same place. Help!

It can be really hard to balance your relationship with your boyfriend with your relationships with your friends. What you see as over-possessive behaviour, your boyfriend probably sees as loving, caring behaviour. Have you tried sitting down and telling him how you feel? If you don’t speak up and say that he’s being too clingy then you’re only encouraging him to act this way!
Talk about it
Your boyfriend can’t read your mind. You’re going to have to sit down with him and have a serious conversation about it. Explain to him that you love him very much, but if you’re going to be moving in together then you’re going to need your own space as well. Try not to be too aggressive, it’ll only make him upset. Just be honest and say what you really feel. Let him know that although he’s very important to you, your friends are too! Sarah xx
