You pick up the bad vibes that your friends give off and it gets you down. It’s not all the time which is great, but while it’s ok to have a moan every now and then you really do feel like they could engage in more positive conversation more often. Try to keep the conversation upbeat and if it heads for a down turn, do your best to pick it up again!

Nancy09- Noway! one of my flatmates who was just starting uni and we were in our forth year flatting thought that they could just hangout with our mate when ever they came over and even invited himself to my Bf 21st t the flat, all our mates just thought he was plan awkward.

Nancy09, in answer to your question, being an older woman, having flatmates doesn’t necessarily make them you mates. I am fortunate that I have 2 flatmates(guys) and they are awesome and yep we are close. Couldn’t live with out my mates, known them for between 15 and over 30 years, girlfriends are really important, we have been through the good, the bad and the ugly lol!!
