Makeup tips from a glamour pro
Kate Squires is a top makeup artist at Napoleon Perdis in Australia. She’s also one of the experts hosting the Impulse Into Glamour masterclasses, a series of “how to” episodes giving women tips and tricks to help them look and feel confident. We asked her to share her top tips for creating glam makeup, fit for day and night.
To achieve a beautiful glowing skin add luminizer by either mixing it through your foundation or adding it to the high points of the face (cheekbones, bridge of the nose, forehead and cupid bow).
Choose to play up one feature of the face, whether it be eyes or lips. An example would be a sultry smokey eye teamed with a nude lip (dark eyes/light lips) or soft neutral eyes with a bold red lip (light eyes/ dark lips).
Applying false lashes are a great way to jazz up the eyes. Add full sets of lashes for more of a glam finish and individual lashes for a more natural look.
When applying foundation it is extremely important to remember that ‘less is more’. Keep your foundation application on the natural side and in an appropriate colour to match your complexion.
