Plump your pout
I don’t know why everyone has gone so crazy over big lips in the last couple of years, but now I feel like my thin lips are ugly and that I need to do something to make them fuller. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I’m with you on this one. I don’t know what the big deal is either! Some lips have gone so far it looks like their owners get into fisty-cuffs with themselves in the mirror every morning. So not sexy in my books.
I personally think that you should embrace your thin lips! That’s what god gave you, and if you’ve never had a problem with them before, why start now? If it’s not broke, don’t fix it! It’s always hard when the pages of glossy mags are telling you differently though, so here’s a few ways to help get the plump pout you’re after - no needle required!
Get a helping hand
There’s loads of lip plumping products on the market that help you create a fuller pout. Most of these products include ingredients that draw blood to the lips surface, temporarily maximising the volume of your lips, or they have collagen in them. Formulas can come coloured or in the form of a primer cream, and they don’t generally come cheap. Here’s a few more reasonably priced products to try:
Makeup is your friend
The other option is using makeup to enhance your lips, but this is a hard art to master, so proceed with care…
1. Outline your lips with a lip pencil that matches your natural lip colour.
2. Exaggerate the shape of your lips SLIGHTLY around the ‘cupid’s bow’ (that’s the name of the wide ‘M’ in the middle of your top lip), but make sure you keep to the natural shape of your lips around the corners of your mouth (you’re not going to clown school!).
3. Fill the rest of your lips in using the same lip pencil then add a touch of soft shimmery lipstick or your fave gloss to the middle of your bottom lip. Press it together with the top and you should be left with one pair of fuller looking lips!
