From rags to riches to Haute-Couture, the lovely Audrey Tautou does an amazing job of portraying a legendary style icon that went from a lowly saleswoman to the most famous name in the fashion industry: Coco Chanel. The film follows the rise of the designer’s life in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century, from her humble beginnings at a French country orphanage to the extravagant heights of Parisian society. A must see for anyone with an interest in the world of fashion.
COUPLES RETREAT
This easy-to-watch comedy follows four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three set out to jet ski, spa and enjoy some fun in the sun - but they soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional - and their “group-rate” vacation ends up coming at a very high price. A good one to watch when you’re not in the mood to think.
