NYC Blog: farewell Big Apple, hello Auckland!
I left New York on Sunday, and here I am back in sunny Auckland! I’ve had an awesome time over the last month or so, saying goodbye to the city that’s been my home for the last three and a half years, and the friends that have become family over that time.
Things I’ll miss about New York? Cheap, great food and endless numbers of neighbourhoods that are begging to be explored. And that friend family, who are awesome! Things I love about NZ? Waking up to the sound of birds chirping (not people yelling at each other in the street and honking horns), and being able to buy spirulina, in a bottle, at the dairy. Ok, that’s a very limited list I’ll admit, but only because I’m still a little jetlagged and ready to hit the sack.
If any Auckland dwellers out there have some must-dos as to stuff I’ve gotta do now I’m home I’d love to hear them - I haven’t been away THAT long, but a lot does change in three and a half years! Actually, I’m keen to hear insider tips from you wherever you are in the country. It is summer after all and I’m keen to do some roadtrips!
