NYC Blog: Civil Wars live at Town Hall
Just got home from seeing the Civil Wars play at New York’s Town Hall.. I didn’t really know their stuff before I went - aside from the bittersweet ‘Poison & Wine’ (below) - and I was totally blown away!
For those who haven’t heard them, Civil Wars are Joy Williams and John Paul White, and they’re both incredible vocalists and musicians. Their stuff is kinda country, but regardless of whether that’s your usual jam they’re an incredible live act - definitely see them play if you get the chance! Here’s the clip for ‘Poison & Wine’, although to be honest, it doesn’t do their live show justice.
These guys haven’t been together long, but they’re super tight, very charming and they write great songs - do yourself a favour and check ‘em out!
