Are my nipples normal?
My nipples are different sizes. Is that normal? I’m too embarrassed to ask my Mum or any one else. Is there something wrong with me?
No, there’s nothing wrong with you! The great thing about the human body is that no two are the same. Different sized nipples are perfectly normal, as are different sized breasts. It’s actually surprisingly common to have breasts of two different sizes. Don’t worry yourself about it at all – you’re one of a large number of girls who look in the mirror and ask themselves the same question!
Your Mum was young once too!
You shouldn’t feel embarrassed about asking your Mum these kinds of questions. Remember that she was young once too! She probably went through the same things and had the same questions about body image that you’re having right now.
Have a girly discussion
The important thing to remember is that not only have other women already gone through it, but your friends are most likely going through the same stages too, and asking themselves the exact same questions. There’s no harm in having a girly discussion about something you think may not be normal, (don’t worry – you don’t have to show each other anything!!). If you talk to your friends you’ll probably be very shocked to find that they have other questions that they’ve been dying to ask someone, but they’ve felt just as embarrassed as you! Sarah xx
