Does he like me?
Q. I have a problem. I like this guy but I’m not sure if he likes me. We text heaps and he says he thinks i’m beautiful and nice stuff like that, but when it comes to hanging with me or seeing me it doesn’t ever seem to work out. Is this a sign of some sort? Should I back off? Should I tell him how I feel? Help help help!!
A. Saying something and actually following through with it are two very different things. You need to keep in mind that actions do speak louder than words because it’s very easy to lie through your teeth to someone. Don’t try to judge a guys thoughts just based on what he’s saying – try and work it out through his actions instead.
If a guy wants you he will make every effort to get you and you need to keep this in mind. If he’s turning every date you try and organise into a drama then there’s definitely something holding him back. Even a shy guy will go out of his way to see a girl if he’s really into you. Sometimes you just have to face the cold hard truth… if this guy was into you he’d be the one doing the chasing, not you.
Cool it off on the texting for a bit and see what he does. If he suddenly ups his game then re-evaluate, it might be the kick in the pants this guy needs!!

There could be legitimate reasons as to why hanging out often doesn’t work out. I agree that if he really wanted to, he’d make more of an effort though. I’m a real straight up person, and i think people (especially guys) respond really well to that. Just ask!! Tell him pretty much what you told us! They are your feelings, you own them, so honour them but being upfront and honest. Tell him you’d like to get to know him better and hang in person. Goodluck! I agree, I think it’s very true. If a guy does want to be with you then he’ll make some effort or show it through his actions.
