Pimples: How can I stop pimples leaving a scar?
Over 80% of teenagers experience breakouts, but the majority of those do stop experiencing them by the time they reach their mid 20’s. Unfortunately scars from pimples don’t let some people forget their struggle with the dreaded spot.
Scarring is a bit like getting kicked while you’re down. First you have to deal with the pimple, then you’re left with a permanent reminder of its existence. And the treatment of scarring works the same way. In order to treat pimple scars, you have to first deal with the breakouts that cause them. Put another way, prevention is key to treatment.
Breakouts are different for everyone and they can range from mild to extreme. Most serious scarring is caused by extreme breakouts. Extreme breakouts, should never be left untreated. If you are suffering from extreme breakouts, make an appointment to see your doctor or a dermatologist.
For mild to moderate breakouts, finding the right products for your skin and sticking to a consistent skin care regime should get them under control - and fewer pimples means less chance of scarring.
