Spring clean your life!
Every now and then it pays to stop and look at what you’d change about your life if you could. And then do it. Life goes by so quickly, and unless we take the time to do something about the areas of our lives we aren’t happy about, they usually stay the same - and we get stuck in limbo. There’s no time like Spring to change gears and get a fresh perspective on life!
Here are some tips on how you can Spring clean your life!
1. Identify some areas of your life you haven’t been happy about for a while, and write them down.
2. If it’s a long list, choose three areas to do something about - attempting to tackle everything at once might mean you do nothing at all!
3. Determine to do something to change each of those three areas, then do it! (This could involve brainstorming ways you can change each area for the better, getting advice etc.)
Example:
Hate your job? Give yourself a timeframe in which to find another job, in an area that interests you, and start hunting! It might mean retraining, or taking a course to up the skills you already have, but it’ll be worth it once you’re in the job of your dreams! The important thing is to be realistic about what you need to do - and how long it might take - to get there.
Sometimes little things, like changing your bedroom around, being honest with a friend, watching less TV or having a creative outlet is all it takes to give you the boost you need!

| Finishing school is the best time to start over. Have a Facebook Cull, Clean your room, Set some new goals. I am all keen for doing this right now. Make the most of the free time you have, I say. Thanks for this little article. Great reminder for me to clean out everything and start again. I don’t want to move into something else before I have an opportunity to regroup and think about what I want out of life. Chur!! Posted by So_Bekki "on" 11/29 "at"05:57 PM |

I find that it’s really easy to get stuck in a rut when we’re busy… I find that I’m so busy at times, even when I’m not doing much at all! It can be pretty frustrating, so I’m going to try and stay organised and make time for myself and the people I love in my life Posted by 40274 "on" 11/26 "at"06:08 PM |

I am not involved enough with friends, family and the community in general. This entire summer so far, I’ve locked myself inside my room and I would be on the computer for hours. I kind of feel bad about wasting away 3 weeks, but so far I’ve joined a youth group, I signed up for the gym, I am planning on going to the YMCA a few times with a friend and I’d really to do things with my family like go for outings! | I’m very bad with procrastinating. I always tell myself that I’m going to go for runs and eat healthy, etc but it hardly ever happens to be honest. I need to write it down, set a goal, and go for it for once. I’m sure this is the same for many other girls out there. Posted by MelissaW "on" 05/15 "at"03:20 PM |
| Thanks for this article - it was thought-provoking and interesting to read. It’s so true for me. I often simply talk about changing things, but hardly ever get around to it. I geta sudden surge of inspiration and motivation, but I find it hard to stick to spring cleaning my life.
It’s really nice to see these articles - it encourages me to act and improve parts of my life that I’m not entirely satisfied with. It’s also quite energising to know that this is a common issue - not just for me, but countless girls in NZ. It’s easy to get dissatisfied with something in your life and mope, but not do anything about it - like working on friendships, kicking bad habits, etc. Thanks 27 Girl! I think I’ll be making a more conscious effort from now on Posted by ILR "on" 05/10 "at"09:04 PM |

I thought this was a pretty interesting topic of choice, albeit a common one. I have just recently started a blog to document changes I intend on making in my life, as they occur. I have found that I spend so much time complaining about what wrong with my life, but not much time doing anything about it (The L&P add ‘nothin much’springs to mind…..) Quite often I rush in with gusto and fizzle out after not very long at all, but this time I have decided to make myself a 12 month project to see whether I can, or how much I can change myself and my life in 12 months. My first challenge being to quit smoking (AGAIN)I’ll take any information on board so I welcome little tidbits of information like this! Posted by misskimmarie "on" 02/15 "at"11:22 AM |
Best of the rest
