Book Review: The Carrie Diaries
Author Candace Bushnell brings us a prequel of sorts to Sex and the City with this book about the life of Carrie Bradshaw - a teenage girl in high school.
Carrie always dreamed of becoming a writer, she had her fair share of boyfriends, girl troubles and frenemies. She was on the swimming team, smoked cigarettes, went to parties and wrote for her school newspaper. She was just like us. But when her mother passes away and she has to steep in and take her place she’s left heartbroken and dazed with broken dreams in a life she didn’t plan. But that’s just a detour, and after listening to the advice of a good friend Carrie gets back on tracks, packs her bags and heads off to the big apple - leaving just a note for her family - and Sex and the City begins.
This book is a delight and every teenage girl will relate to Carrie’s experiences growing up. Excellent if you are a Sex and the City fan, but even if you’re not then this is still a really good read!
