How to…burn, baby, burn!

24/7 Girl Vintage article

SoccerCardio is an essential part of any workout! Not only does it help keep our weight in check by burning off the excess energy we consume, done regularly, it improves the efficiency of our metabolism, keeps us alert, and just generally keeps us in good health.

We all have unique workout styles, but whether you’re a lone wolf, a team player or a couch potato, there’s a cardio workout for you! Here are some of our favs:

Running. Ok, you can’t go past running as the ultimate cardio workout. It burns energy, it gets your heart rate up, and you’ll (ideally) break a sweat. Watch your joints though, and increase your fitness slowly - no sense risking injury by pushing yourself too hard too soon!

Tip: if you have weak joints, brisk walking is effective too!

Be a sport, join a team. If you get bored easily, exercising with mates is a great option. Netball, touch, dragonboating, soccer - there are heaps of team sports you can play socially or for school! Best part of joining a team? You motivate each other, and have heaps of fun too!

Dance! From pole dancing to hip hop, dance has really come into its own as an effective way to get fit while having fun! Shy? There are heaps of classes you can take to hone your skills - and who knows, you might feel more confident about dancing in public if you have a few moves up your sleeve!

Go your own way. Not everyone’s into team sports, but working out on your own doesn’t have to be boring! Some great sports you can get into alone include kickboxing, skiing and rowing. All of these are effective and fun cardio workouts, and they make a great hobby too!

Comon Discuss It..
I used to dance quite a lot but I had to stop due to knee problems and as soon as I stopped I started to gain weight… ): But i’ve started running now and am losing it :D they are both amazing for cardio though.
