How can I tone my butt?
Q. “Do you have any lil exercises that help to tone your butt? Like, ones you can do while watching TV? I’m sick of having wobble where I shouldn’t!”
A. Toning ‘problem’ areas like your belly and butt can feel like hard work - but once you’ve established healthy eating habits, and are doing 60 minutes of moderate and vigorous physical activity (30 minutes if you’re 18+) every day, your weight should plateau enough for you to really be able to tone certain areas - and see a difference!
While spot exercise won’t do away with excess flab in one area, it does help tone specific muscles. To really target your abs you’ll need to put a little work in - here are some basic workouts to get you started.
Q. “I was wondering what the recommended weight is for a 5ft 8 female, aged 15??”
A. We’re all different, but a really good way of assessing your ideal weight is by using a BMI (Body Mass Index) calculator, like the one used on the Healthy Food Guide website. The BMI works out your height to weight ratio, and will indicate whether you’re underweight, overweight, or just right for your height.
Remember: the BMI is a guide only - we’re all different shapes and sizes, and that’s a good thing!
Q. “What exercises could I do in 30 minutes or less a day to work on core strength??”
A. Pilates and yoga are two forms of exercise that are great for improving core strength - while swimming for half an hour each day will give you a full body workout, tone your abs and strengthen your core!
