Sticking to the programme

Ever started a fitness programme, all psyched and determined to see it through to the end? You do wicked - for a week. Then you skip a run, eat a block of chocolate… and lose your motivation. By setting simple, achievable, goals ‘fitness’ won’t seem so out of reach - and getting there can be fun!
You don’t have to live on a treadmill to get fit - ride a bike, go for a surf, or explore your neighbourhood on foot!
Preparing for an event like the ones below is a great way to motivate you to get fit - knowing you’re working towards something can help you stick at it when you want to give up, especially if you’re training with friends!
By having an end goal, and setting clear, achievable goals along the way will make getting fit less overwhelming. By gradually changing your habits to incorporate daily physical activity and healthy eating, you’ll get there!
Tips to help you train
- Set realistic goals
- Make it fun
- Train with friends or join a team
- Sleep well
- Work exercise into other activities (e.g. walk to the shop instead of driving)
- Eat a healthy mix of fresh foods
- Be consistent
If you’re looking for easy ways to work exercise into your daily routine, check out this cute little activator from SPARC here.
